365, 5: day 43

Dubuque, IA

Today started and ended a little weird, with so many complicated feelings about home and family. In between that, it was a lovely day. We were supposed to do a Turkey Trot in the morning, but too much wine and rain easily persuaded us to skip it. I drank hot apple wine, supervised my nephew making cookies, watched football, made Brussles sprouts, ate only Thanksgiving food (for a change… probably won’t do that again), helped put up the Christmas tree, and settled in excitedly for the Packers Bears game that was soooo horrible. I’m glad the holiday part of this weekend is over. It was hard but nice but time to move on.
