The mornings after weddings are always a little rough, and this was no exception. But we finally got on the road, arriving back in Grosse Pointe, where we met up with several family members for a quickie-drive-tour through Detroit (including a stop for the Heidleberg Project) and a delicious lunch as Mudgies. We boarded our first flight, to Chicago, and sat on the plane for about 40 minutes, when a ground hold at O’Hare led to us leaving the plane and facing endless delays. My husband (definitely not used to that word yet) worked some phone magic and got us moved to a direct flight on Delta, which also meant we got to move to the nicer terminal that had a Potbellys (but that was somehow completely out of cookies?!).
