365, 6: day 73

Valparaíso, Chile

We took a Chilean cooking class today! It started with a trip to the market with our instructor and classmates, which was really cool (there was a cat napping in a produce box?!), and then we started cooking! We made pebre, palta rellena, empanada de pino, pastel de choclo, chirimoya alegre, and pisco sours! I husked corn, cut hearts of palm, and chopped peppers for pebre, we drank a lot of amazing Chilean wine, and we ate the most delicious meal. It was a ton of fun, and our instructor gave us some tips for taking a boat ride, which we did next. The boat ride was all in Spanish, and it was hot and crowded, but I got to sit on the front of the boat and it was really cool to go out into the bay and ride around all of the huge cargo boats, plus we saw seals! After this adventure, we went back to our Airbnb and our Australian friends came over for wine and pizza. It was a really nice way to end our time in Valparaíso, although I realllllly do not want to leave, ever.
