365, 8: day 189

Dubuque, IA

It’s weird, because I struggled with Easter “on my own” for so many years. And finally, ten years later, I’m back with my family for Easter and I missed so many of my own traditions at home. Life is really something. Anyway, the day started with my niece’s baptism! Which was lovely. My sister organized an adult-friendly egg hunt and there was punch and cake and guacamole and all the other things you would want. My mom, aunt, and I had a bit of a restless, indecisive afternoon, but it was soooo beautiful out that we had a fantastic evening, with curry and Oh Heck under the stars all night. I am infinitely adaptable, I keep telling myself.
