365, 6: day 361

Los Angeles

Today was really weird, with so much strange stuff from the past coming up. I’m still not totally sold on this new Zumba instructor, but she is really nice and enthusiastic, and this class was a marked improvement on last week’s. Plus I read the New Yorker Harvey Weinstein piece, shudder. (The saving grace was this pumpkin chai, which we’ve all been waiting for at work for the last month… my co-worker finally found it this weekend!)

365, 6: day 360

Culver City

We technically had the day off today, but I spent a panicky thirty minutes dealing with logistics and then went in to work to receive a shipment and spend three hours unloading 1000 boxes! And then I basically spent the rest of the day cooking, making a big kale salad for breakfasts the rest of the week, butternut squash noodles with a pumpkin sauce for dinner, and spaghetti squash for a future dinner (plus I saved the seeds for roasting!).

365, 6: day 359

Los Angeles

After a healthy breakfast and went to the gym, I had my first old school “football day” of the year. We met up with friends at a bar, a drunk Cowboys fan bought us tequila shots after the game, and we decided to finish the night at a local restaurant, where we split a burger and Brussles sprouts and fries, plus wine and Cards Against Humanity where, as always, the auto-draw third fake-player won.

365, 6: day 358

West Hollywood

I had another lovely day of PST shows, and I’m really glad that my intense desire to stay home alone as much as possible is waning (now it’s just an intense desire to bop around alone). I first went to Lassens for a pumpkin smoothie, experienced second hand Rick and Morty sauce-gate via people on the bus, and then went to the Schindler House and Pacific Design Center. The only downside is that it’s so hot out, so I gave up any pretense of seasonal faking it and we decided to grill – my husband grilled steak, and I made a shishito pepper salsa to go on it with a kale salad on the side. Plus a pretty great SNL, actually.

365, 6: day 357

Los Angeles

I’m getting into a good stretch of regular Friday morning hiking, which is such a nice way to begin the weekend. And the mayor of Berlin came to work today?! Which had made for a stressful week but an exciting day, I guess. After a busy summer of visitors and then the last month of basically hibernation/recuperation, I am finally feeling the urge to do things again. So I went to LACMA after work and finally saw some PST exhibits and listened to jazz and wandered around and it was delightful. I also went up to The Grove and Trader Joes, and my husband made a game-time decision to order pizza, at 9pm when we were both still not home and starving. I bought wine and tried to get a game night going, but he was too tired and went to bed – a real role reversal.

365, 6: day 356

Los Angeles

I went downtown in the middle of the day to attend a street art panel for work, had a glass of champagne when it ended at 2:30, and didn’t eat lunch until 4. Oops. It really took it out of me.

365, 6: day 355

Los Angeles

We found kittens at work last week and my co-worker has been fostering them. We went to visit today and they were so precious and sweet. They were a little too squirmy to get a good picture of, but adorable nonetheless.
