365, 7: day 115

Los Angeles

Today was a weird day at work, rough in a lot of ways. I got in some weird, heated arguments and felt just full of rage all day. I knew I needed to do something to calm down, so I went to a crazy spin class where I sweated and totally zoned out and could literally feel my anger dissipate. It’s so crazy how that works! I was able to have a very nice night at home after that!

365, 7: day 114

Los Angeles

My mom gave me All the Light We Cannot See for Christmas two years ago, and I finally started reading it the other week and I almost stayed up until 1am last night to finish it, but I convinced myself not to. So instead I spent all night tonight doing that. Anyway, my cat is just being the sweetest lately, so cuddly and wonderful. I’m so lucky.

365, 7: day 113

Los Angeles

I’m getting back into the groove of running, and it’s feeling good – although I noticed today that my sneakers (of like 7 or 8 years?! oops) are starting to get holes in the toes! I bailed on Super Bowl plans to watch at home alone, which was a true delight. Plus: wow. It was annoying that the Patriots were in the Super Bowl again, but it was also super fun to watch them lose.

365, 7: day 112

Los Angeles

We went mini-golfing this afternoon… I started out strong but kind of fell apart in the bottom nine? But I got the only hole in one! And then we went to a friend’s beautiful new house for margaritas, tacos, puppies, and Cards Against Humanity! Except for me it was more like water and just the inside of tacos. It seemed unfair for my last night of Whole 30, but it was also fine. And THREE PUPPIES!

365, 7: day 111

Culver City

That run last night really took it out of me? I slept horribly and decided to skip Runyon, even though my husband was going anyway?! And I slept until 8. Oof. I’ve been doing a lot of rehousing at work, in preparation to move things to our new location, and it both feels like I’ve done a lot and also like I’ve done nothing at all. I went to two grocery stores after work and spent the night cooking, cleaning, and reading. Basically my ideal Friday night.

365, 7: day 110

Los Angeles

I ran four miles after work, the longest in 2018 (and like.. the last six months), and it was so hard and felt impossible and really took it out of me. I basically collapsed when I got home, although obviously I was able to muster up the energy to change my table over for Valentine’s Day! It’s a work in progress, but I’m digging it so far. I’m sad to see January go but psyched about a new month (slash love February in LA too).

365, 7: day 109

Culver City

Today was a little silly, as I got stuck in an extended limbo situation at work, spending a lot of time waiting around. I planned to go running after, but I walked past the group fitness room on my way to the bathroom at the gym pre-run and got lured into another Zumba class by the music. It was particularly surreal because I wasn’t wearing contacts and I ended up in the back of the room, with a particularly nuts (amazing) instructor. One of the perks of our new building will be being close to this class, because I loved it.
